Wonders of Tagaytay City!
Tagaytay City in Cavite is the perfect place for leisure activities such as picnic, horseback riding, sightseeing and just to hangout. It is a favorite go to place among tourist and weekenders searching for a quick whiff of refreshing air. Just a two hours from Manila,Tagaytay is a relaxing and safe haven where one can relax, unwind and be one with nature. You can find many places and do many things in Tagaytay City. To fully enjoy its cool and breezy climate, here's a list of some of Tagaytay City's tourist spots ,attractions and to do and expirience.1.Sky Ranch:Tagaytay
Sky Ranch Tagaytay (also known as Sky Fun) is an amusement park located in Tagaytay, Philippines, a mountainous region just one hour south of the capital city of Manila. It's a great day-trip destination for small and large groups, and it offers many activities including the tallest ferris wheel in the Philippines, other carnival-like rides, horseback riding, mini-rides for kids, and several budget-friendly restaurants.
Here are 5 reasons why you should also visit:
#1 - Tallest Ferris Wheel in the Philippines: It may seem exaggerated, but it's actually true. Sky Ranch features the tallest ferris wheel in all the Philippines. It's called the "Sky Eye" and it takes riders to a height of more than 200 feet (or 63 meters). When in Tagaytay, you are already 2,000 feet above sea level, so that combines to a total of more than 2,200 feet in the air. The ride lasts exactly 10 minutes, each cage is air conditioned, and about 4-5 people can fit in each cage.
#2 - Amazing View: While on the ferris wheel during the day time, riders will be able to see an amazing view of the Tagaytay Highlands and of Taal Volcano. The view also overlooks Lake Taal, which is the country's third largest lake. On a sunny day, the view is to die for!
#3 - Multiple Attractions: One good thing about Sky Ranch is that there is more than just the ferris wheel. Visitors can also experience several carnival-style rides including the Super Viking, and they can go horse back riding. There are several mini-rides for kids including the Express Train, Mini-Viking Ship, a Carousel, and the Nessi Coaster. Even more, near these attractions, they will soon open a Science Discovery Museum for children.
#4 - Great Location: From Metro Manila, it takes just one hour to get to Sky Ranch. Nestled in the Tagaytay Highlands, the region is very easily accessible from the country's capital city, and normally traffic is not too congested along the way. There are tons of nice hotels nearby, tons of restaurants, and tons of other activities such as hiking or zip-lining.
#5 - Very Inexpensive: For an amusement park, the prices are quite reasonable. Admission to the park is just 100PHP per person (about $2.50 USD). This is the cost for every person to enter whether they will experience the rides or not. Once inside, each attraction has it's own price. The attractions for kids are usually just 50PHP (about $1 USD), but the attractions for adults range from 100PHP to 250PHP (about $2.50 - $5.00 USD). There are several affordable food vendors that are selling meals for an average of about 150PHP (about $3 USD).
Location:
Sky Fun Amusement Park in Sky Ranch Tagatay is located right beside Taal Vista Hotel at Kilomoeter 60 Aguilnado Highway, Tagaytay City 4120.
Operating Hours:
Monday - Thursday, 3pm - 12am
Friday - Sunday, 12pm - 12am
Prices:
Admission to park - 100PHP per person (or about $2.50 USD)
Ferris wheel ride - 150PHP per person (or about $3.00 USD)
Horseback riding - 250PHP per person (or about $5.00 USD)
2.Tagaytay Picnic Grove
The Picnic Grove offers a panoramic view of the Taal Volcano. Most visitors bring in food
with them for obvious reasons or one obvious reason: a picnic! Cottages
are available for rent around the park and can be rented for a minimal
fee.
But Tagaytay’s famous picnic park is not all about cottages and
picnics, it also provides great camping sites, an eco-adventure trail
and even horseback riding adventures. Adults and kids can enjoy a
horseback ride for 200 pesos for the big horses and 150 for the small
ones. Owners of the horses usually approach visitors offering horseback riding
for rent so feel free to haggle with them for a cheaper price. The
adventure trail on the other hand is available for an additional fee of
150 pesos. But what visitors usually look forward to when going to the Picnic Grove is the park’s newest attraction. The Tagaytay Ridge Zip line and Cable Car. The zip line features a breathtaking ride of up to 60 kilometers per hour as you fly 300 feet off the ground. Feel the cold Tagaytay breeze rushing onto your face as you fly down the line like superman. Professional, trained staff will assist every passenger to ensure that every second of the zip line experience is safe and enjoyable so riders wouldn’t have to worry about a thing.
But for those who decide not to test their courage and bravery skills, you can ride the cable car instead. Walk into a huge bird cage that lets you sit comfortably and safely within the wired enclosure. See the beautiful Taal Lake from afar and the green land below you as you slowly ascend to the other side of the mountain. A cable car ride costs 100 pesos per trip for a one-way ride with the zip line adventure charging the same price. During weekends and holidays, the prices are increased by double.
Getting to the Picnic Park is easy either by use of private or public transportation. Taking a jeepney is a cheaper option than riding a tricycle but tricycles are plentiful around Tagaytay City unlike jeepneys that have specific routes. From Olivares Center, take a tricycle to get to the park which will only cost 10 pesos per person. Don’t fall victim to tricycle drivers who will charge you unreasonable prices and don’t be afraid to strike a good deal with them before riding.
Entering the grove isn’t free, though. You’ll have to pay 50 pesos per person to get in and another 30 pesos for car or van parking, 50 pesos for jeepney parking and 100 pesos for bus parking. Although the cottages and all other activities are changed with a fee, it’s still a small price to pay considering the spectacular view of the Taal Lake that comes with it.
Although many claim that the Picnic Grove requires a much-needed improvement, its existing amenities and facilities do not disappoint those who are in dire need of fun. The park is and will always offer what it promises, which is a great Tagaytay leisure escape for less.
3.Taal Trek Experience (Tagytay/ Batangas)
We pre-paid our trek with the Taal Yacht Club at P1,900 for 5 persons.
If you don't pay beforehand, they'll charge you P2,200. Also,
companions not part of the trek will have to pay an entrance fee of P100
per head, but we were able to successfully haggle. And another good
news, the trip was supposedly for 5pax only, but the caretaker allowed
us to add another person because of the good weather.
Tours usually cost P1,500 but we happily agreed to pay the additional
amount for the use of their amenities (shower room, clean comfort rooms,
and nipa hut). Crazily, our group expected yachts to welcome us but
apparently, yachts come and go from the place but park in other clubs.
Upon reaching the island, a lot of locals will try to sell you bottled
water (P30) and face mask (P15), or maybe have you rent a sombrero.
They will also try to convince you to use a horse for the whole trek
(P500). Apparently, there are a lot of horses in the community which
they use for their chores/ livelihood. So watch your steps carefully,
there are a lot of horse poop!Warning: The ground is dusty/ sandy so you might want to use closed shoes/ rubber shoes. At first, you see a lot of grass and trees. but as you go to the top, it becomes hotter and more barren.Check out the stations of the cross. And steam coming out of the rocks!
On top of the crater, there are souvenir items for sale. But BEWARE-- a
small bottled water now costs P50, as well as halo-halo, buko, or a
small soda bottle. We had to buy because we ran out of supplies, so
better go up with lots and lots of hydration even if it's gonna be
heavy.
The view on top of the crater was beautiful! Too bad they're charging
additional P50 to see the red rocks formation. And I was hoping that I
could swim in the crater but nobody told me that the trail we got
(Regular Trail) is too far from the crater itself. I guess the more
expensive tours go to the crater so better ask your guide for the trail
that would suit your wants.
4.Fantasy World in Lemery Batangas
(Entrance Fee: P1,000.00 for a group of 10 even if you're going alone (for non-members) and P100.00 per head (if with a member), although members get to bring 4 more guests in for free)
Over a decade ago, Fantasy World aimed to be the first theme park in the
Philippines which would be exclusive to members and their guests.
However, for unknown reasons, operations stopped and the once lively
castle has turned into a lonely one with its faded colors and empty
halls.
Anyway, with your entrance fee, you could roam around the premises, have
picnic with your family and/or friends, or take a swim in their pool.
If you want privacy, you got it here!Location: Barangay Mayasang Lemery Tagaytay, Philippines about 2 hours average travel time drive from Manila Philippines
Fantasy World Philippines is a family entertainment facility, theme amusement and recreation club park. It is located on top of the soft rolling mountain ridge overlooking the clear panoramic views of Taal Lake and Volcano. After its completion, facilities will consist of golf & country club, hotel, condotels and residential houses. The site was chosen for Fantasy World by the proponents for its mild climate, purity of air, and closeness to Metro Manila and the Southern Provinces. Entrance to Fantasy World will be through the main gateway along Diokno Highway. Entry to the site can be from any of the six (6) major road networks.
Fantasy World Theme Parks, Amusement and Recreation Club, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit corporation established primarily as a membership club which will operate and maintain a country club, amusement theme park and water park for the exclusive use and benefit of its members, their families and guests. Fantasy World offers a complete family entertainment facility similar to those found in Disneyland, Disneyworld, Universal Studios, and other amusement and theme parks found throughout the world.

5.The puzzle Mansion
The PUZZLE MANSION is home to the museum where you can find the record-breaking puzzle collection of Gina Gil Lacuna. It is located in the Lacuna family's one hectare summer house in Tagaytay. She beat the reigning Brazilian Luiza Figueiredo in the Guinness World Records for having the Largest Collection of Jigsaw Puzzles in the World.
The best time to visit is when Gina herself is in the museum to
personally give the tour. She loves having kids as her audience because
she wants to inspire them to believe that more and more Filipinos can be
Guinness World Record Holders.
Here's our Puzzle Mansion Tour experience with Gina Gil Lacuna:
If you are with a group, I suggest you park your car outside and take
the customized Puzzle Mansion jeep to arrive at the mansion Pinoy-style.
The Puzzle Mansion has a puzzle museum, an infinity pool, a 400-sq.m.
function room (with a capacity of 400 guests), and a ten-room Bed and
Breakfast. The puzzle collection is located in the lower level of the mansion, opposite the infinity pool.
There is a P100 entrance fee (including kids), which is for the maintenance of the museum.
Here's a view of one of the family rooms: GARDENIA ROOM complete with a
set of double beds, full size bathroom and shower, with a maximum
occupancy of 4. There is a 24-hour cafe, cable TV, wifi internet and a
massage area.
There are a lot of puzzles of renowned paintings that are part of the collection.Puzzle #946 SPHERICAL. (No. of Pieces = 530 | Completion Time: 6 hours | Dimension: 9.5 in. diameter)
One of the interesting pieces is this 3D spherical globe puzzle.
Wooden Puzzle #517 WHIMSICAL EIFFEL TOWER. (No. of Pieces = 135 | Artist: Georges Seurat | Completion Time: 1 hour | Dimension: 17 cm x 28 cm.)
The wooden pieces of the Eiffel Tower puzzle have different shapes
that symbolize Parisian culture like wine, women, church and the Eiffel
tower itself.p close, you can see the intricate shapes of each piece.
Overall, the Puzzle Mansion tour is worth it, especially if Gina is leading the tour on weekends. It's awesome to hear her speak passionately about how she worked hard to be awarded the Guinness World Record for the Largest Collection of Jigsaw Puzzles. It would be inspiring to see the World's Largest Puzzle in development before it is completed.
One of these days, we will probably stay overnight in the Puzzle
Mansion Bed & Breakfast to witness the completion of the World's
Largest Puzzle. :)

6.Peoples Park in the Sky
The
supposed palace was built in 1979 during the marcos regime. it was to
serve as a guest house for then U.S. President Ronald Reagan who was to
visit the Philippines. The EDSA People Power happened and Marcos
ousted,teh visit never transpired,
And the palace that was supposed to be in the sky?ABONDONED.
BUT...
There are still best attraction in Tagaytay because of its high location – it is the
highest point in Tagaytay, thus referred to as palace in the sky. It
gives the visitor, a perfect view of Taal Volcano and its lake, the
mountains and the beautiful landscape around.Today the place has been renamed to People's Park In the Sky and
unfortunately the Palace remains unfinished. When I say unfortunately
it's because this Park has one of the most amazeing views I've ever seen
before and I could easily imagine rebuilding the Palace for the use as a
resort, with a small café faceing south to the Taal Lake. Even in the
foggy wheater that I faced during my visit here did it allmost take my
breath away to stand there and watch the Volcano.
But in fact the Volcano is just a small part of the view from this place, everywhere you turn it's green, hilltops and mountains, huges deeps they face you everywhere - and it's truely magnificent. ntrance fee is PHP 30.00 plus a jeepney ride of PHP 10.00 in order to get you from the gate to the top, but it is always a nice exercise walking down.

Clouds
usually swirl around the old structure, enveloping everything in
surreal whites. The atmosphere fits perfectly with the dilapidated
affair of People’s Park. It’s like you’re in a zombie movie or
something. It’s magical. Well, at least for someone as imaginative as
me. - See more at:

Native Souvenirs,Fruits and Vegetables that you can find in...
Mahogany Market:
he Mahogany Market in Tagaytay City is a famous stopover or a place for break in the journey of travelers going to Tagaytay. This is where friends and family or groups meet before exploring the city or before going back to Manila or their place of origin. The Mahogany market in Tagaytay is famous for its homegrown/local beef that is sold at a very reasonable price. They still make use of the old fashioned big tree trunks as chopping boards. Most visitors of this cool city would like to take home some beef for their family and loved ones. The Mahogany market is also known for the variety of fresh fruits and vegetables being sold in there. There are also vendors peddling other Filipino delicacies and souvenir stuff to bring back home around the market. There are also herbsbonsai plants, flowering plants, and even fruit trees being sold here. There are also food stalls that cater to hungry and adventurous visitors who would like to try some famous exotic and sumptuous local dishes, like the most favored Beef Bulalo or Bone Marrow Soup, Soup No.5 or soup from bull’s testicles and/or penis, the fried tawilis which is small but delicious fresh water fish, Lugaw or congee with beef tripe and sometimes beef intestines. It will not be a problem for people who would just like to stick to ordinary Filipino dishes because the food stalls in Mahogany Market also have regular dishes that do not include any inside part of a cow except its meat. The next time you go to Tagaytay City do not forget to pass by Mahogany Market for your fresh fruit, plant, and beef ‘pasalubong’ or souvenir and try at least one of their exotic foods.
